About the role

An established accountancy practice in South Yorkshire is looking for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join its team. The firm provides a wide range of accountancy, taxation and business advisory services and is known for offering practical, high-value support to local businesses and individuals.

This role is ideal for someone with existing practice experience who is looking to progress and take on more responsibility in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and personal tax returns.
  • Complete bookkeeping tasks and work with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Support senior team members with accounts and tax assignments.
  • Provide day-to-day client support and maintain strong professional relationships.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • AAT Level 3/4 or studying towards ACCA/ACA (or relevant experience).
  • Confident in accounts preparation and tax compliance.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, professional approach.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and produce accurate work independently.
