An established and growing accountancy practice in the North East is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to manage a varied portfolio of clients while playing a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting business growth.
The Role
- You will work closely with a diverse range of small and medium-sized businesses, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of statutory year-end accounts
- Managing Corporation Tax, VAT, and Self-Assessment compliance
- Producing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
- Providing financial analysis and business performance insights
- Supporting client decision-making through clear financial reporting
- Mentoring and reviewing work of junior team members
- Contributing to internal process improvements
About You
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified (or finalist)
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations
- Confident in client-facing environments
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with accounting software
- Highly organised with strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
