Base Location: Inverness, Fort William, Elgin, Aberdeen, Arbroath, Perth, Dunoon or Oban.
Salary: £29,504 - £34,757 per annum. 37 hour working week. Up to £4,442 for overtime payments & up to £3,820 for standby payments, giving you a potential of £8,262 extra per year (subject to qualifications). Full PPE and tools required for the position. Access to a company vehicle. A range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time.
Responsibilities:
- Work all year round with a skilled team to clear trees and vegetation near our overhead distribution network, keeping the lights on and powering our communities.
- Support lines teams during bad weather as part of storm response to restore supplies where trees have damaged our equipment.
- Evaluate, prepare, and carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites with safety as the foremost priority.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture; similar capacity experience is also considered.
- Relevant NPTC certificate units for the use of chainsaws, and a qualification or certificates including NPTC UA.
- Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities; may need to work away from home occasionally.
- Experience of working with power lines, and climbing would be highly advantageous.
- High regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do is a key priority.
Travel:
Travel is required and we can only accept applications from candidates that hold a current driving licence.
