How many Project Manager roles genuinely give you the opportunity to work on projects where the methodology, engineering, sequencing and delivery strategy are every bit as important as the programme? We are working with an established specialist contractor looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager as part of its continued growth. Ideally, you will already have a strong background within demolition, deconstruction or specialist construction, although consideration will be given to exceptional Project Managers from technically challenging construction environments who understand complex project delivery.

The business delivers demanding projects across a variety of environments, from complex city-centre deconstruction and structural alterations through to industrial projects, remediation and specialist engineered works.

The Opportunity

As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from pre-start and planning through to successful completion. You'll work closely with operational, commercial and technical teams to develop the project strategy, methodology and programme before leading delivery on site. Responsibilities will include managing programme, resources, subcontractors, client relationships, health & safety, risk, quality and overall project performance. This is a hands-on Project Management position where you'll be expected to understand what is happening on your project rather than simply reporting on it.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous Project Management experience within demolition or deconstruction
  • Alternatively, a strong background managing technically complex construction projects
  • Experience managing projects from planning/pre-start through to completion
  • Strong commercial and programme awareness
  • Excellent understanding of health, safety and risk management
  • Experience coordinating operational, commercial and technical teams
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to plan and manage complex sequences of work
  • Appropriate construction qualifications and professional training
  • Flexibility to travel to projects as required

Demolition experience would be a significant advantage and candidates with strong specialist demolition knowledge are particularly encouraged to apply.

Package £60,000 – £80,000 + package, dependent upon experience. Beyond the salary, this is a genuine career opportunity. You'll be joining an established specialist business with the capability, technical knowledge and ambition to deliver challenging projects where experienced Project Managers can make a real impact.

If you're an experienced demolition professional looking for your next move — or a Project Manager from a complex construction environment interested in moving into specialist deconstruction — I'd be very interested in speaking with you. Apply with your CV or contact me directly for a confidential conversation. All enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.
