Overview
In this role you lead a Global Mobility team to deliver high-quality cross-border tax compliance and advisory services. You’ll translate complex mobility tax rules into practical guidance, manage client relationships, and scale processes, controls, and tools for efficient delivery. You work with cross-functional teams to drive growth of the Global Mobility practice and support the client sales cycle when needed. This role combines leadership, deep technical tax expertise, and the ability to create scalable solutions for a modern, hybrid workforce.

Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing Global Mobility team with coaching and career development
- Oversee resourcing, training, technology, and tools to enable effective client delivery
- Coordinate with other Ryan service lines to avoid duplication and share expertise
- Develop client work plans and delivery models for mobility projects
- Review data and tax calculations to identify risks and advisory opportunities
- Research and resolve complex mobility tax matters across jurisdictions
- Translate technical issues into practical recommendations for clients
- Lead client communications and ensure quality, responsiveness, and delivery
- Support cost management, budgets, forecasts, and resource deployment
- Develop new clients and opportunities to grow the Global Mobility practice
- Promote technical developments and training to clients and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and quality standards
- Manage projects with scope, timelines, budgets, and governance processes
- Maintain deep technical knowledge and professional designations in mobility taxation
- Participate in professional organizations and internal learning
- Support recruitment and build a strong pipeline of candidates
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; significant experience in global mobility tax or expatriate tax
- Strong tax technical capability and problem-solving skills
- Client management and leadership experience
- Ability to lead complex engagements and manage cross-border issues
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Professional tax or accounting designation preferred (e.g., CPA, EA, CTA, ATT) or commitment to obtaining one
