As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Transport Planner to optimise our supply chain operations and ensure timely delivery of our high-quality concrete products.

Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Transport & Dispatch Manager, the Transport Planner will be responsible for processing orders, liaising with layers and coordinating the day to day deliveries of our concrete products. This includes ensuring on-time delivery, maintaining high standards of quality, health and safety, and providing a first-class customer experience. The role is critical in optimising resource utilisation, safeguarding supply chain integrity, and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engaging with customers to receive and process product orders by phone and email
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of all customer orders
  • Assign trucks and drivers efficiently to maximise daily utilisation
  • Schedule delivery times in line with customer expectations
  • Work alongside the wider dispatch and transport team to provide a cost effective, sustainable, safe and customer focused operation
  • Build long-term relationships with product layers
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure delivery expectations are met
  • Liaise with raw material suppliers to ensure product supply lines are maintained
  • Liaise daily with sales, customers and production planning teams to ensure alignment on delivery schedules and order requirements
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and transport legislation

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain management
  • Comprehensive understanding of transport planning requirements
  • Good commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Practical knowledge of construction sites and logistic environments
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational demands
