This Lead Estimator role sits at the centre of a developing Cookstown team, focusing on interpreting construction drawings and producing technical schedules and quotations for specialist construction systems. Alongside your own estimating responsibilities, you will support the day-to-day coordination of the estimating function, guiding team priorities and ensuring enquiries are delivered efficiently.
Working closely with project staff and clients, this Construction Estimator position combines hands-on estimating with leadership responsibility, offering genuine progression into senior leadership as the team continues to grow.
The Role
- Interpret construction drawings to produce take-offs, technical schedules and quotations
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and pricing for specialist construction systems
- Manage pricing enquiries, variations and scope clarification
- Liaise with contractors, customers and internal project teams
- Prepare handover packs for delivery teams
- Maintain accurate estimating pipeline and pricing records
- Support coordination and oversight of estimating workloads within the team
- Lead team discussions reviewing enquiries, priorities and client expectations
About You
- Experience as an Estimator, Senior Estimator or Construction Estimator / Design Engineer
- Confident reading and interpreting construction drawings
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and confidence communicating with customers
- Experience supporting or leading others, or looking to step into a leadership role
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced office environment
