About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to join a large, high-profile hospital site in Central London on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineering professional looking to lead a team within a critical healthcare environment while overseeing essential mechanical building services and plant infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading, mentoring, and managing the on-site engineering team
  • Overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance works
  • Fault finding, diagnosing, and repairing heating, cooling, and mechanical plant systems
  • Monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure including HVAC, steam, and BMS systems
  • Coordinating contractors and liaising with hospital stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, and reports
  • Supporting team development, training, and operational best practices

What we’re looking for:

  • Mechanically apprenticeship trained or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience within a mechanical engineering or facilities maintenance environment
