About the Role
Recruit A Driver is currently recruiting experienced Class 2 HGV Drivers for ongoing general haulage work based in Sheffield.
The role involves approximately 6 deliveries per day to farms, retail units including pet shops, and distribution centres.
Drivers will operate rigid vehicles fitted with a rear-mounted Palfinger forklift. Previous Palfinger or FLT experience is not required, as full internal training is provided.
The Role
- Complete approximately 6 deliveries per day
- Deliver to farms, retail units and distribution centres
- Operate a rear-mounted Palfinger forklift
- Complete vehicle checks and required transport paperwork
- Work to individual driver requirements where possible
- Flexible working hours available, with some drivers working longer shifts and others choosing shorter working days
- Nights out available for drivers who want them
Requirements
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Reliable, professional and safety-focused approach
- Willingness to learn and undertake Palfinger training
- Previous Palfinger/FLT experience not required
Training & Support
- 1–2 days in-cab training xgikmsk with an experienced driver
- 3 hours Palfinger training with the company's own driver trainer
- Half-day site familiarity with mechanics and loading supervisors
- 1-hour paperwork training with the transport office
- Full support provided to help drivers become confident in the role
Pay & Additional Benefits
- £16.00 per hour
- £26.20 tax-free + £7.50 taxed overnight subsistence when staying
