About Our Client Our client is an established and growing Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Contractor delivering high-quality MEP projects across the East and West Midlands.
Working with a diverse client base, they deliver projects within the commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, MOD, residential and public sectors, ranging from refurbishment schemes through to large scale new build developments.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their delivery team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final handover while working within a supportive, forward-thinking business.
The Role Of Mechanical Project Manager Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple mechanical projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include
- Manage mechanical building services projects from award through to completion.
- Take full commercial and operational responsibility for allocated projects.
- Develop and manage project programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Procure subcontractors, labour and materials.
- Attend client meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Produce and manage procurement schedules.
- Oversee installation quality and ensure compliance with current regulations.
- Manage commissioning activities and witness testing.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Carry out site inspections and quality audits.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare monthly progress reports and cost forecasts.
- Manage project variations and change control.
- Support commercial teams with valuations, applications and final accounts.
- Ensure a smooth handover including O&M manuals and project documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
As The Mechanical Project Manager We’re keen to speak with individuals who bring a strong blend of technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and delivery experience.
Ideal candidates will have
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within Building Services.
- Proven track record delivering mechanical packages from £250k to £5m+.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, heating and public health installations.
- Experience delivering projects across commercial, education, healthcare, industrial or residential sectors.
- Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Relevant qualifications in Building Services Engineering or similar
- SMSTS / CSCS / First Aid certifications
- Experience working with main contractors or large-scale developers
