At Queensmith, we understand that our greatest asset is our exceptional team. As the Production Lead, you are central to overseeing the production of all items designed and made in-house. This is a hands‑on senior role involving close collaboration with the Head of Production and other department Heads, ensuring effective communication between the sales, workshop, and marketing teams. You will maintain the team's coordination and productivity by maintaining a clear overview of the department as a whole, ensuring the timely, cost‑effective completion of work that upholds Queensmith's highest standards. The Production Lead is pivotal in ensuring that each order is accurately assigned with comprehensive briefs and manufacturing notes. You will manage a small team of Production Assistants, training and developing them. Your contributions are integral to our journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist & support the Head of Production by leading the general day-to-day running of the department. Deputise to the Head of Production as required.
  • Train, mentor and manage a small team of Production Assistants, maintaining productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure that the Production Team are briefed on the daily objectives and any urgent orders.
  • Oversee and ensure that the highest quality of work leaves our workshops (including returns, repairs and stock).
  • Aid in the tracking of all costings, ensuring the jewellery created is both cost‑efficient and of the highest quality.
  • Allocate jobs to the workshop with accurate manufacturing instructions, manage and prioritise workloads, and deal with any production issues that arise.
  • Conduct audits and produce weekly and monthly reports.
  • Proven track record in a senior jewellery production role.
  • Experience in developing and managing a team.
  • Confidence and knowledge to spot and resolve manufacturing faults and elevate them where required.
  • Technical understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in high‑level quality control.
  • Strict compliance with company security procedures.
  • Commercially minded approach
