Database Administrator – High Frequency Trading Firm – Chicago / Remote $150,000-200,000 + bonus and benefits Quant Capital is urgently looking for a SQL DBA to join our high profile client.

Our client is a well known global Prop Trading firm.

They sit on the intersection of technology and trading focused on, speed, scalability and robust performance (much like their track record).

The firm is known globally for its attitudes and rigour more importantly, you will be surrounded by smart people deeply interested in teaching what they know, and in learning from you.

Their development team is 60 globally.

Day to Day the DBA will: Providing round-the-clock support for critical databases within the firm Conducting troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis for database and application-specific incidents Handling schema design, capacity planning, and change control management tasks Performing database baselining, benchmarking, performance analysis, and tuning Improving and enhancing database maintenance routines Collaborating with company technical leads and development teams to develop and execute project plans aligned with customer expectations and company strategic goals Managing database backup and recovery operations, database patching, upgrades, and implementation of security policies Integrating SQL systems with third-party tools and environments Establishing and enforcing policies, processes, and procedures for efficient database management The environment is that of a well funded Tech Start-up, open with time to think and make the right decisions with an open dress code.

This is a role for techies, those who are motivated by the sharp end of technology and the possibility of making serious money doing something you are passionate about.

SQL DBA’s MUST have: 5-10 years of hands-on expertise in managing databases Proficient in analytical problem-solving and skilled in troubleshooting Capable of both independent work and effective collaboration within a team environment Proven track record in project management, successfully leading projects from start to finish Knowledgeable in various database design methodologies and techniques Well-versed in implementing database security protocols and procedures Understanding of ETL best practices across large-scale enterprise systems Experience in optimizing performance, fine-tuning queries, and utilizing monitoring tools such as Performance Monitor and SQL Profile Specialized knowledge in High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions for MSSQLAutomation experience using scripting langauges Skilled in managing indexes, maintaining index performance, and utilizing statistics Exposure to Linux environments as well as Postgre SQL and Influx DB, is advantageous Preferred proficiency in programming languages such as .
