Protocol Education are currently working with a well-known Secondary School within South Gloucestershire, Bristol. The school are looking to recruit a School Receptionist for a fixed contract, starting in September. The school is known for its large, long-standing staff team with many staff members who have worked at the school for over 10 years. They truly pride themselves on a family feel, community-led approach where not only staff, but students and families all collaborate together for the best needs of the students and school.
This role will include:
- Answering the phone, transferring calls, taking messages and communicating to the team/individuals
- Adding information and recording data and information on computer systems
- Welcoming visitors/parents - signing them in and ensuring they have correct documentation and supervision
- Filing, organising and keeping the reception area clean, safe & tidy
- Working together with other administrative staff and teams and liaising with all staff collaboratively and proactively for the best outcomes
- Dealing with issues that may arise and using a positive and professional approach
- Supporting with school events when required
- Scheduling and coordinating appointments and events effectively
- Dealing and responding to enquiries and communicating in a timely manner
- Fully aware and compliant with safeguarding and H&S
The school are looking for someone with the following attributes/experience:

- Previous administrative experience is desirable
- Previous school reception duties are desirable
- Be able to work at a fast pace efficiently
- Be able to prioritise and multi-task
- Be able to effectively communicate to staff, students, parents and visitors
- Be organised with a flexible approach
- Be competent with IT systems (experience with school systems such as SIMS and Bromcom is desirable)
Finer details:
- Hours - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:15am - 4:15pm, term time only
- Location - South Gloucestershire, Bristol
- Pay - £14.25 - £15.38 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Start date - 3rd September
