Job Purpose
Control commercial aspects of the Company, both operationally and strategically.
Provide input into planning, provision and monitoring of commercial support to commercial, project delivery and Senior Management teams.
- Key Skills and Accountabilities
- Level of Competency Required
Implements good Commercial knowledge. Must be able to deliver a ‘standard’ level of performance but experience may be limited.
- Operational
- Liaison with client, subcontractors and suppliers on the commercial aspects of our projects.
- Prepare procurement reports and schedules for review.
- Prepare cash flows for review and maximise cash position through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
- Raise Subcontract Orders, Purchase Orders and Appointments for services, materials, labour, and plant in accordance with Company procedures and project requirements.
Review all client and sub‑contractor contractual terms and conditions with the team to ensure they are fully understood and fully assessed, not excessively onerous and well within our ability to deliver the project within these terms and conditions.
These must always be approved via the Company approval procedures.
- Manage warranty process as part of administering any Subcontract or Appointment.
- Prepare and review with the team all client valuations and variation, submit to clients and reach agreement of the same to enable the relevant invoices to be raised.
- Assess subcontract valuations and agree variation accounts including contra charges.
- Agree both client and subcontract Final Accounts.
- Monitor the financial performance of your projects and build, manage and submit monthly CVR reports to the Company for review.
- Early identification of project risks and opportunities and prepare registers alongside the team for review
- Work with, and provide ongoing feedback on, the members of our supply chain to promote continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality and learning of all parties.
- Help close out projects efficiently using project close out processes.
- Knowledge of commercial resources at their disposal.

- Assist in workload planning and prepare schedules.
- Preparing reports for senior management.
- Health and Safety
- Maintain own awareness of current requirements and future developments of Health, Safety and Environmental law affecting construction.
- Maintain a full understanding of the requirements of the SHEQ procedures and site plans and conduct all duties in a manner consistent with these.
- Ensuring all company SHEQ procedures are included in subcontractor orders to assist with full supply chain compliance.
Skills and Qualification's
- Good Level of Commercial Competency Required.
- Must be hardworking, honest and reliable
- Quantity Surveying Qualification
- Have good communication skills
- Valid CSCS card
- Full driving licence
- Highly competent in the application of IT with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
