Job Description

  • Observe and conform at all times to Safe Working Practices and current Health and Safety Requirements to include adherence to PPE requirements at all times.
  • Working at height (Overhead cranes) and confined space working (inside large) machines will occur from time to time and the role is best suited to industrial biased Electrical Engineers.
  • Working on LV Electrical Systems and Fault Finding breakdowns.
  • Undertake PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) tasks as allocated.
  • Actively complete any Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Permits required before any work is started.
  • Tasks completed must conform to the Quality Standards and Internal Quality Assurance Work Instructions.
  • Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
  • To attend timeously for work, meetings and courses.
  • Accurately and efficiently carry out all aspects of electrical maintenance tasks as directed by the business.
  • Self-Inspect work prior to commissioning plan after installation or repair.
  • Ensure any plant and equipment internally or externally hired is operated correctly and any defects are brought to the attention of a Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Co-operate with both Electrical and Mechanical Supervisors with a view to improving standards and reducing costs.
  • Complete all Maintenance and Shift Reports as requested accurately and in a timely manner.
  • In the absence of the Supervisor and or designated Manager you will be responsible for the maintenance department and planned maintenance tasks in support of operational needs.
  • Comply with the Company Code of Conduct. Take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself, direct reports, colleagues and other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions at work, and for the environment.

Any other duties deemed reasonable by the business.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering, or similar qualification and a proven record of practical experience within a medium to high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Time-served / qualified candidates who are in an electrical discipline would be preferred.
  • Excellent team player with a sound understanding of planned maintenance routines and procedures. The ability to effectively analyse, record and interpret data.
