On a large Java Script codebase, types catch the mistakes tests miss and make the code easier for the next person to change.

When a project is big enough or will live long enough to need that, we write it in Type Script from end to end.

You will build front ends in Next. js or Angular and back ends in Nest JS, with types shared between them, deployed in Docker and reviewed before release.

The code will be maintained for years, so it has to read clearly, not just compile.

  • What you will be doing
  • Build web applications in Next. js or Angular, and APIs in Nest JS.
  • Design the types and the API contract so the front and back end agree.
  • Keep server rendering, caching and page speed under control on the pages you own.
  • Write tests and error handling as part of the feature, not after it.
  • Review colleagues' code and have yours reviewed.
  • What you will need
  • At least five years of commercial work in this field that you can show us. We promise clients that everyone on their project has that, so it is not negotiable.
  • Type Script applications you shipped and supported, with strict mode on.
  • At least one of Next. js, Nest JS or Angular in production.
  • Enough plain Java Script to know what the compiled output does.
  • Git in daily use.
  • Useful, not required
  • Monorepo tooling and shared packages.
  • Testing with Vitest, Jest or Playwright.

✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned.
