Polytec are seeking a skilled CNC Sliding Head Lathe Programmer/Operator to join our high-performance client, based in Ely. You'll play a critical role in the manufacture of precision components for both production and R&D by programming, setting up and operating CNC Sliding Head lathes.
Responsibilities:
* Program and operate Sliding Head lathes (Fanuc controls)
* Interpret CAD/CAM drawings and machine to micron-level precision
* Troubleshoot and optimize machining processes
* Support quality checks, first-off production and continuous improvement
* Perform maintenance and share best practices within the team
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years' experience working with CNC Sliding Head lathes
* Proficient in setup, programming, and operation of CNC equipment
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings
* Skilled in working to micron-level tolerances
* Experience with Fanuc controls
* Knowledge of SMED methodologies to minimize downtime
* Familiarity with multi-pallet machining, 3-axis milling, or Wire EDM (desirable)
