Experienced Assembly Technician in Cambourne

Location: Cambridge (CB23) Job type: Temporary Duration: Ongoing Hours: 7:15am until 4pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: £17.49 per hour Job Reference: 36330 Polytec are looking for an Experienced Assembly Technician for our client based just west of Cambridge. You will have good hands-on experience of high precision mechanical assembly and testing skills. Responsibilities: - Assemble precision components and assemblies to tight tolerances and high-quality standards - Get hands-on with assembly, testing, fault-finding and troubleshooting - Investigate any issues or malfunctions and make modifications where needed - Carry out tests, record the results and make sure everything meets the required specification - Make sure test equipment and tools are calibrated, working correctly and fit for purpose - Work closely with colleagues and other teams across the business - Get involved in Lean activities and share ideas on improvements - Look for ways to reduce waste, improve efficiency and make assembly processes better - Follow established processes and procedures, including those covered by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 - Help maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance - Take on other tasks and responsibilities as needed from time to time Requirements: - Experience with both mechanical and electrical assembly - Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team - A good understanding of vacuum systems and how they work - A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to get stuck in - Experience working in a cleanroom environment would be an advantage Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
