Role: Technical Operator, L Plant – A Shift
Salary: ÂŁ35,913.80
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm
Location: Carlisle, 54 Church Street, Cumbria, CA2 5TG

Role responsibilities
What will this role achieve?
Technical Operators are accountable for carrying out tasks within the machinery. They will work closely with the ATM/Supervisor about any issues that they come across to ensure customer supply. The role requires flexibility and good communication skills. All training will be provided.
The role requires a “can do” attitude, and a commitment to high standards within a busy team. Key tasks include moving lines across the factory as required.
Key deliverables
- Prioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator Team
- Keep operations running in your area, including tiered meetings
- Establish high standards of work and proactively develop continuous improvement
- Carry out all pre-start checks
- Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification
- Understand equipment and machinery setup
- Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure; follow re-work procedures
- Carry out machine changeovers
- Make adjustments to machinery settings to maintain product consistency
- Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard
- Maintain everyday factory safety standards
- Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda
- Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures
- Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance
- Ensure team understands the planning of their daily tasks
- Communicate with the relevant person to resolve issues
- Machine fault identification, diagnosis and rectification where applicable
- Confirm and prioritise production activity in line with production plan

What does the recruitment process consist of?
Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude assessment plus a Workplace English assessment, taking around 45–60 minutes.
Interview – 45–60 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience.
