Role Purpose

This role will lead and shape global product compliance to enable timely and compliant entry into new and expanding markets. Act as the central regulatory conduit and strategic advisor between Commercial, R&D, regional teams, and external consultants, ensuring consistent, business-relevant and decision-enabling regulatory delivery. Play a key role in translating complex global regulatory landscapes into clear strategies that enable compliant growth and support business decision-making. The role reports to the Global Director, Regulatory Affairs.

Key responsibilities

  • Global Regulatory Leadership & Market Enablement
    • Lead and drive regulatory compliance workstreams for global and regional innovation, renovation, and new market entry projects.
    • Act as a strategic partner to Commercial, R&D, Quality, Legal, Packaging, and regional regulatory teams to deliver regulatory milestones aligned with business priorities.
    • Act as the central regulatory lead for new markets, consolidating and interpreting local requirements through regional teams and external consultants.
    • Provide clear regulatory direction and decision frameworks to enable efficient and compliant market entry across a complex and diverse global footprint.
  • Strategic Regulatory Guidance & Risk Management
    • Drive consistent application and evolution of global regulatory frameworks, tools, and risk assessment approaches across projects.
    • Provide early regulatory guidance on ingredients, formulations, claims, pack copy, visuals, and emerging science to minimise late-stage risks.
    • Lead and provide oversight for global compliance and risk assessments for product concepts, claims, and communication materials.
    • Translate and elevate regulatory requirements and intelligence into clear, practical, strategic business-ready recommendations.
  • Regulatory Intelligence & Foresight
    • Lead monitoring and interpretation of global regulatory and scientific developments relevant to food, confectionery, biscuits, and snacks, with focus on market expansion impacts.
    • Own and continuously evolve a global regulatory risk radar covering ingredients, claims, packaging, and market-specific topics.
    • Proactively identify emerging regulatory risks and opportunities and translate them into forward-looking recommendations to support business strategy.
  • Global Integration & Stakeholder Influence
    • Act as the central integrator of regulatory input across regions, ensuring alignment and consistency in regulatory positions.
    • Influence and guide cross-functional stakeholders to embed regulatory considerations early in innovation and commercial decision-making.
    • Enable effective decision-making by balancing regulatory risk with commercial objectives in complex, multi-market scenarios.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience within regulatory affairs for food, confectionery, FMCG, or related sectors, preferably with a multinational food manufacturing company.
  • Strong knowledge of global food regulations, Codex principles, claims regulations, ingredient standards, and policy processes.
  • Strong stakeholder influence, strategic thinking, and decision-making capability in complex environments.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and analytical capability.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a global network.
