Role Purpose:

This role has 3 main purposes:

  • Carlisle BFC: The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that WIP trays are available to meet Carlisle's BFC plans and empty trays for Aintree's production plans, whilst ensuring that there is no stock write off.
  • Stock Counting: The SCC will also carry out the site wide ingredients count, focussing on accuracy and validating stock records for all items and locations across warehouse and production areas. Identify damage, out-of-date/obsolete stock, and unrecorded movements, investigating discrepancies and driving corrective actions to improve stock accuracy, improving confidence in MRP/material availability, production planning, and customer service levels.
  • Supply Chain Operational Cover: To provide effective cover and support for key Supply Chain activities including Production Recording, MRP and Labour Management, ensuring continuity of operations, accurate system transactions and reporting during periods of absence or increased workload.

Main tasks:

  • Manage the process for ensuring up to 1,500 pallets of WIP trays are stored efficiently within the Aintree warehouse.
  • Complete a minimum weekly tray stock count and reconciliation, including physical checks across all storage locations including Aintree, WSF and Carlisle.
  • Coordinate the delivery of up to 500 pallets per week to Carlisle, ensuring no impact on Carlisle's assortments plan.
  • Manage the age profile of WIP products, implementing controls when stock reaches 25% shelf life and ensuring stock is utilized effectively to prevent write-off.
  • Coordinate cross-site activities to mitigate potential WIP write-offs, including identification of risks and implementation of agreed actions.
  • Complete root cause analysis for any stock write-off and manage the process through to disposal.
  • Manage transport ordering for Carlisle, MDC and segregation activities.
  • Manage pallet ordering, pallet stock levels and resolution of booking-in issues.
  • Coordinate and communicate the monthly pallet count.
  • Produce supply chain reports, KPI updates and data for Tier 3 and Tier 4 meetings.
  • Provide cover and support for other key Supply Chain activities including MRP, Labour Management and Production Recording when required.
  • Communicate weekly packaging and ingredient deliveries to key site stakeholders.

Responsibilities/accountabilities:

  • Management of WIP stock held within Aintree, valued at approximately 6m annually.
  • Management of WIP tray movements between Aintree and Carlisle.
  • Maintenance of empty tray availability to support production requirements.
  • Prevention and management of stock write-off risks.
  • Completion and communication of the monthly pallet count.
  • Provision of accurate Supply Chain reporting, KPIs and performance data.
  • Development of effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support of MDC service requirements through effective transport and stock coordination.

Qualifications/certificates/Experience:

  • Experience using SAP for stock management, inventory reconciliation, production reporting or materials planning.
  • Knowledge and experience of Autostore or similar Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Microsoft Excel – a minimum of intermediate level.
  • Microsoft Office – a minimum of intermediate level.
  • Experience of managing relationships, both internal and external.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, warehouse and supply chain processes. Previous food manufacturing experience desirable but not essential.
