Role Purpose

The Enterprise Master Data Lead is responsible for defining and orchestrating the enterprise-wide master data enablement and MDM implementation model, predominantly across Product, Material, Supplier, and Customer domains, supporting pladis’ global and regional reporting, analytics, and AI foundations. Note - This role does not own master data. Master data ownership remains firmly with business stakeholders.

Additionally, this role enables success at scale by:

  • Aligning with regional business and IT leaders to understand data, reporting, and insight needs.
  • Defining data governance frameworks, standards, and templates that enable business in overcoming their current data maturity challenges.
  • Enabling conceptualising (with regional and global function leads) function-specific enterprise data products that underpin core reporting, analytics, and AI use cases, with clear and measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

Master Data Governance Enablement

  • Define and maintain the enterprise master data governance framework in line with business needs and existing scenario.
  • Create governance standards, rule templates, and stewardship models for regional and global business data owners.
  • Enable business ownership of master data through practical governance playbooks and decision frameworks.
  • Enable design and/or selection of the automated workflows/products to manage master data using an agreed MDM strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of MDM workflows with business stakeholders by defining steps to identify, clean, enrich, manage and distribute master data as a single source of truth for any transactional and analytical needs.
  • Orchestrate collaboration across business, MDM, data engineering, and analytics teams.

Regional & Global Data Requirements and pladis’ Data Product Enablement

  • Partner with regional business and IT leaders to understand core data, reporting, and analytics needs.
  • Apply a structured framework to identify, assess, and prioritise regional and global data requirements.
  • Translate fragmented regional needs into scalable, enterprise-level pladis data product concepts.
  • Define core and baseline pladis data products supporting mandatory reporting, analytics, and AI use cases across all major business functions.
  • Standardise key pladis master and reference data domains including customer, product, pricing, promotions, and supply chain data in alignment with pladis value streams and business capability matrix.
  • Clearly articulate business value, scope, and expected outcomes for each data product.
  • Ensure data products are designed for reuse across global reporting, self-service analytics, and automation.

Required Experience & Skills

  • CPG Domain Expertise (Mandatory)
  • 12–15+ years of deep, hands-on experience in CPG Master Data Management, Governance and Data Analytics, including (but not limited to): Product, material and customer hierarchies, Sales, trade promotions, pricing, Supply chain and manufacturing.
  • Proven experience partnering with regional and global CPG business teams.
  • Critical thinking, influencing, ability to embed and explain why F.A.I.R data is important for competitive advantage.
  • Proven ability to design frameworks, operating models, and templates, not just solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with modern data platforms (cloud, lakehouse, warehousing).
  • Working knowledge of: Data pipelines and integrations, SQL and analytics tools.
  • Experience operating in Agile or product-centric delivery environments (is a must).
  • Ability to influence without formal data ownership.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Structured, pragmatic thinker with strong business acumen.
  • Comfortable working in a global, inclusive, and collaborative culture.

Educational & Professional Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in (any one): Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related discipline (mandatory).
