What will this role achieve? This role will provide key support to the Site Leadership Team for the Wigston factory site. The role will be based in Wigston and reports to the Manchester Regional Finance Manager within Supply Chain Finance, providing pivotal support in a range of areas, including:
- Preparation of quarterly forecasts / budgets and performance reporting.
- Working closely with cross-functional team members and guiding the offshore finance function.
- Developing Cost Centre Managers' financial awareness and finance support for site capital investment processes.
- Facilitating the management team in controlling and forecasting the cost base.
- Standard product costing ownership including financial support for new product development.
- Driving continuous improvement in the site finance function.
What will be your key deliverables?
- Ensuring decisions, plans, and strategies are formulated on a sound commercial and financial basis.
- Reviewing and reporting performance against agreed budgets and forecasts.
- Driving the formulation of vital action plans to meet objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and group accounting procedures.
- Business partner to site cost centre managers, supporting them in overheads management.
- Completing the site's budget and monthly forecasting processes.
- Supporting project leads regarding capital reporting and forecasting.
- Site prime and overhead performance analysis and month end reporting.
- Maintaining the site asset register and ensuring robust financial control.
- Periodic balance sheet reconciliation review.
- Supervision and support of the offshore team.
- Reporting into the Regional Finance Manager and site leadership team.
- Deputising for the Regional Finance Manager as needed.
Bring your experience
Essential:
- Proven communication and leadership ability.
- Experience of Financial Analysis / modelling / investment appraisal techniques.
- Desire to challenge the status quo and engage with the whole site.
- Track record of providing robust financial analysis, including planning and forecasting.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word/PowerPoint).
- Recently qualified or studying towards a recognised professional qualification such as CIMA/ACA/ACCA, or strong experience in a finance environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to plan effectively and work under own initiative.
Desirable:
- Costing experience in the FMCG/manufacturing arena.
- Experience of making sophisticated financial analysis easily understood in FMCG/manufacturing background.
