Hours: Full-time

About Phoenix Consulting
We are a fast-growing technical consulting and implementation partner, helping organisations deliver end-to-end digital transformation across enterprise IT platforms, Cyber Security, systems integration, cloud and ERP, with Salesforce as one of the platforms we specialise in.
Our business focus includes energy, Healthcare, and we have a long track record of success through organic and new business growth.
We are trusted by our customers for our ability to deliver complex, high-value programmes and for working in deep partnership with their teams.
As we continue to expand our UK presence, we are creating a new Marketing Cloud Architect / Senior Developer role to lead the design and technical delivery of Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions for our clients. This new position reports to the CEO and Leadership team, and focuses on architecting and building high quality marketing automation solutions while supporting our wider Salesforce delivery capability.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Cloud Architect / Senior Developer to lead the design, build, and delivery of Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions across our client engagements. You will act as the technical authority on Marketing Cloud, working closely with solution architects, consultants, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable marketing automation architecture.
This is a hands-on role. You will be building and configuring solutions yourself as well as setting the technical direction, so we need someone equally comfortable in the weeds of AMPscript, SQL, and API integrations as they are advising a client on best practice architecture.
While the role is remote, you will need to be comfortable travelling to client sites from time to time for workshops, discovery sessions, and go-lives, so being UK-based is a firm requirement.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead the technical architecture and solution design for Salesforce Marketing Cloud engagements
-
Build and configure Marketing Cloud solutions, including journeys, automations, data extensions, and integrations
-
Write and maintain AMPscript, SQL, and SSJS for personalisation, segmentation, and automation
-
Design and implement integrations between Marketing Cloud, Salesforce CRM, and other client systems via APIs
-
Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients on Marketing Cloud engagements
-
Translate client business requirements into scalable, well-architected technical solutions
-
Attend client sites as needed for discovery workshops, solution walkthroughs, and go-lives
-
Work closely with solution architects and delivery consultants to ensure solutions are implemented to specification and best practice
-
Identify risks, dependencies, and technical trade-offs early, and communicate these clearly to clients and leadership
-
Contribute to pre-sales and scoping conversations, helping shape proposals and statements of work
-
Mentor and support less experienced developers on technical delivery
