The role
We are seeking a proactive and delivery-focused Project Manager to coordinate the development and delivery of hardware, firmware and mechanical engineering projects within a complex product engineering environment.
Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management and Operations teams, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and driving delivery across multiple product development workstreams.
You will ensure projects remain on track, managing priorities, risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations throughout the product lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, collaborating with firmware, hardware and mechanical teams to deliver innovative products from concept through to manufacture and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Own and coordinate project plans across hardware, firmware and mechanical engineering teams.
- Drive delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring milestones, timelines and deliverables are achieved.
- Facilitate project meetings, planning sessions and progress reviews.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
- Coordinate activities between Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Product Management and Supply Chain teams.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to key stakeholders.
- Support product development through concept, design, testing, validation and release phases.
- Ensure alignment between engineering teams and wider business objectives.
- Track project budgets, resources and delivery forecasts where required.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and planning activities.
Skills & Experience
- Proven Project Management experience within engineering, manufacturing or product development environments.
- Experience coordinating delivery across cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, risks and dependencies simultaneously.
- Experience delivering projects involving hardware, firmware, embedded software or electronics development.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with a proactive approach to delivery.
- Experience working with project management tools and reporting mechanisms.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and effectively communicate with engineering teams.
- Experience working with embedded systems, firmware or electronic products.
- Exposure to PCB design, electronics manufacturing or product engineering.
- Knowledge of product lifecycle processes from concept to production.
- Experience working with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops or similar tools.
- Experience within transport technology, industrial technology, Io T or safety-critical environments.
