DURATION: Contract (up to 3 months)

LOCATION: Columbus, Ohio

What You Will Do

  • As an Instructional Assistant for the Low Voltage Telecom program, you will play a key role in supporting learners as they prepare for careers in IT infrastructure and data center operations.
  • Assist the Technical Instructor with delivering a structured, approved curriculum focused on data center skills.
  • Support remote classroom facilitation in an interactive, hands‑on style.
  • Enforce and model appropriate remote classroom decorum and professionalism.
  • Take and track daily learner attendance in Salesforce and/or LMS.
  • Coordinate with the Instructor to prepare lab tools and resources in advance of sessions.
  • Lead instructor‑approved study groups based on learner performance and needs.
  • Provide one‑on‑one tutoring and support for learners who are struggling.
  • Be prepared to step in and lead a lesson in the event of instructor absence (short‑term only).
  • Ensure all classroom or borrowed equipment is returned and properly stored.
  • Monitor learner engagement, flag challenges early, and collaborate with instructors and coaches to provide support.
  • Implement individualized study plans for learners when necessary.
  • Assist with learner progress tracking, grading, and real‑time data entry in Salesforce or Canvas.
  • Participate in instructional staff meetings and regular learner progress reviews.
  • Reinforce class policies including dress code, attendance, and participation.

What You’ll Bring to Us

  • Preferred Skill Sets
  • Network Engineering Experience with Network Devices, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware/software (e.g., Computer Break/Fix).
  • Experience with supporting Rack Servers Dell PowerEdge / HP Proliant Operating Systems Support.
  • Professional Qualifications Knowledge of industry‑standard cable specifications.
  • Familiarity with low‑voltage topology (MDF, IDF, CDF).
  • Low Voltage support and experience in a data center environment.
  • Nice‑to‑have Certifications OSHA 10‑Hour Online Training Courses NFPA 70E - Electrical Safety Training ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level Preferred: CompTIA A+ Certification.
  • The ability to write content and curriculum related to instructional outcomes is a plus.
  • Ability to train and secure Cisco Network Essentials certification.

Compensation

For this role specifically, we are targeting a compensation of $18.00 an hour.
