About the role

Chinese speaking Compliance Manager and MLRO

Working hours: 9:00am–5:00pm (1 hour lunch) Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement and maintain adequate policies and procedures designed to detect any risk of failure to comply with regulatory obligations and counter financial crime.
  • Advise and assist relevant persons responsible for carrying out regulated activities to comply with the bank’s obligations.
  • Ensure adequate training and guidance is undertaken by staff on all aspects of compliance and anti‑money laundering matters.
  • Access and oversee the firm’s compliance with regulator rules on systems and controls that prevent the firm being used for money laundering and terrorist financing.
  • Receive reports of suspicious activity from staff.
  • Consider all reports and evaluate whether there is evidence of money laundering or terrorist financing.
  • Report any suspicious activity or transaction to the National Crime Agency (NCA) by completing and submitting a Suspicious Activity Report and provide additional information when required.
  • Request NCA consent to continue with any transactions they reported and ensure that illegal transactions are not continued.
  • Train staff in preventing money laundering and following regulation.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience across financial markets regulatory obligations.
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills, with the ability to help drive regulatory compliant and commercially viable solutions.
  • Ability to update fit‑for‑purpose compliance policies, procedures, controls, perform targeted compliance testing and manage regulatory filings.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Good communication in English; Chinese a plus.
  • Self‑motivated, team player, good communication skills, circumspection, ability to work independently, dependable, flexible.
