Pelsis Group is a global manufacturer and supplier of pest control, garden care and environmental solutions. We are looking for a Head Office Accountant to deliver accurate financial reporting and help our Head Office teams understand and manage their costs.
About the role
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will prepare holding company accounts, support Group reporting and maintain strong financial controls. You will also work with colleagues across functions such as HR and Marketing, explaining expenditure, challenging assumptions and helping budget holders make informed decisions. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to international Group accounting, intercompany transactions, statutory reporting and external audit.
How you’ll make an impact
- Deliver reliable month-end reporting: Prepare holding company management packs, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance-sheet reconciliations, with clear commentary on variances.
- Support Group accounting: Contribute to monthly consolidation and intercompany reconciliations, including Head Office recharges, loan schedules, interest and foreign exchange revaluations.
- Help manage Head Office costs: Analyse expenditure, explain movements against budgets and forecasts, and provide practical financial support to budget holders.
- Support cash-flow forecasting: Prepare holding company inputs to the Group’s 13-week cash-flow forecast, highlighting upcoming payments and movements against forecast.
- Maintain effective financial controls: Work with the Knaresborough finance team to resolve invoice processing and bank reconciliation issues ahead of month-end.
- Contribute to year-end reporting: Support IFRS statutory consolidation, statutory accounts preparation and the external audit through accurate schedules and supporting evidence.
- Improve how we work: Identify opportunities to strengthen finance processes and support ad hoc financial analysis.
What you’ll bring
You will have strong financial accounting experience, including month-end close, management accounts, journals and balance-sheet reconciliations. You will be comfortable investigating discrepancies, explaining expenditure variances and managing competing reporting deadlines. You will also bring:
- Working knowledge of intercompany accounting, recharges and foreign currency transactions.
- Good Excel skills and experience using financial accounting or ERP systems.
- A thorough, organised approach, with accurate supporting schedules and clear audit trails.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with non-finance colleagues.
An ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, part-qualification or equivalent relevant experience would be welcome. Experience of Group consolidation, IFRS, statutory accounts, external audit or cash-flow forecasting would also be beneficial, particularly within an international, multi-entity or manufacturing and distribution business. You will gain broad exposure across Head Office and Group Finance, combining technical accounting with practical support to the wider business. Your work will help improve the quality of financial information, strengthen controls and support effective cost management.
