Group Internal Audit & Controls Manager

Group Internal Audit & Controls Manager

Full-Time On-site
Pelsis Group

Pelsis Group is a global manufacturer and supplier of pest control, garden care and environmental solutions. We are looking for a Group Internal Audit & Controls Manager to strengthen financial controls, improve the reliability of Group reporting and support our regional finance teams.

About the role

This is a hands-on role combining risk-based internal audit with practical financial problem-solving. You will assess how controls work across our businesses, identify the root causes of issues and work with local teams to implement sustainable improvements.

Alongside delivering the annual internal audit plan, you will help resolve accounting and reporting challenges, develop consistent Group finance policies and improve readiness for external audit.

The role requires travel across the UK, Europe and US to conduct on-site reviews, work directly with regional teams and support improvements across our operations.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Deliver risk-based internal audits: Develop and deliver the annual audit plan, using on-site and remote reviews to assess financial and relevant operational processes.
  • Strengthen financial controls: Establish and test minimum Group standards covering payment approvals, segregation of duties, inventory, balance-sheet reconciliations and system access.
  • Solve problems with regional teams: Provide practical support to investigate accounting, reporting and reconciliation issues, helping local teams address root causes and retain ownership of their controls.
  • Drive corrective actions through to completion: Agree clear actions, owners and deadlines, maintain a central findings tracker and verify that improvements are effective.
  • Improve consistency across the Group: Develop finance policies, provide practical guidance and training, and share good practice between regions.
  • Support external audit readiness: Work with Group Finance and regional teams to improve supporting schedules, reconciliations and control evidence ahead of year-end.
  • Keep leadership informed: Report significant risks, recurring issues and overdue actions clearly, and review fraud prevention and detection controls.
  • Maintain appropriate independence: Balance practical support with objective assurance, arranging independent review where you have personally implemented work or controls.

What you’ll bring

You will have substantial experience in internal audit, financial controls, financial accounting or external audit, together with a strong understanding of financial reporting and core finance processes.

You will also bring:

  • The ability to plan risk-based audits, test controls and turn findings into practical improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of reconciliations, inventory, payment controls and segregation of duties.
  • A hands-on approach to investigating accounting and reporting issues.
  • Experience supporting year-end external audits and preparing reliable audit evidence.
  • Clear communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build relationships across regions.
  • Strong Excel and ERP skills, the ability to work independently and willingness to travel across the UK, Europe and US.

An ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA or equivalent qualification is required. We would also welcome experience within an international manufacturing or distribution business, knowledge of COSO and ERP access controls, or experience in a private-equity-backed environment.

You will have the opportunity to shape how internal audit and financial controls operate across an international Group. Working with finance and operational colleagues across multiple regions, you will see the practical impact of your work through stronger processes, more reliable reporting and lasting improvements.
