Our Client is a leading provider of construction, infrastructure and property developments in the UK, with a strong commitment to leaving lasting legacies across the communities they serve. With circa 10,000 staff operating from regional offices and live sites across the whole of the UK, the team works closely with industry partners to deliver buildings and infrastructure which is vital to the UK. Joining the company as an M&E Design Manager provides an exciting opportunity to lead a talented building services design team, overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design for large-scale, complex construction projects. Key Responsibilities: * As the MEP Design Team Lead, you'll be working within the Building Services team, supporting them in delivering coordinated MEP design solutions for major construction projects. * You'll be the central point for technical excellence, managing design teams, integrating different disciplines, and ensuring sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery. * Working collaboratively with clients and colleagues, you'll drive innovation, maintain quality standards, and support the development of your team whilst helping to shape the future of Building Services. * Supporting the Head of Building Service in managing the business and ensuring coordinated solutions for all allocated works * Developing and maintaining strategic client relationships with internal and external clients whilst managing team utilisation * Overseeing designs and advice including feasibility, multi-stage designs, and condition reports * Managing team development, including technical, behavioural, and health & safety aspects * Playing an active part in business development, including fee production, quality responses, and attending client meetings Person Specification: * A Chartered Engineer (preferred) and member of CIBSE or IET, with a Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering * Experienced in managing and driving a multi-discipline technical/engineering team with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance * Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a wider business audience, both verbally and in writing * Experienced in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design * Able to pass the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requirements Applications are invited from career minded building services professionals highly motivated to work on major projects within a world-class collaborative environment.
