A well-established precision engineering company based in Halifax is currently seeking an experienced Mill/Turn Programmer / Setter Operator to join its production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist to work within a high-precision manufacturing environment producing quality components for a varied customer base.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating mill/turn machinery, working from engineering drawings to manufacture components to strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC mill/turn machines while producing components from customer drawings and specifications.
  • Manufacturing both small batch and one-off components.
  • Machining large components within tight tolerances.
  • Working with Fanuc, Mazak, or Siemens controls.
  • Maintaining high standards of workshop housekeeping.
  • Complying with all HSQE procedures and company policies.
  • Attending training courses where required.
Candidate Requirements
  • Apprentice-trained machinists with a strong CNC turning background and live tooling experience.
  • Previous experience using Fanuc, Mazak, or Siemens controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience within precision engineering environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and good manual handling skills.
  • A reliable, honest, team-oriented approach.
Working Hours

The position is full-time, working 36.75 hours per week. Hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 4:50pm and Friday from 8:00am to 12:15pm. Overtime is available.
