Navigating the position: RevOps Data Team Lead
RevOps Data Analyst Team Lead is accountable for leading the revenue analytics capability and turning commercial data into trusted, actionable insight. The role manages and develops a team of analysts, sets analytical standards and priorities, and partners with Sales, Account Management, Customer Success, Finance, Marketing, Product, and central RevOps teams to improve visibility, decision making, and commercial performance. The role combines hands-on analysis with team leadership. It owns the quality and consistency of revenue reporting, supports forecasting and planning, develops scalable dashboards and data products, and ensures stakeholders understand the commercial story behind the numbers. In a transforming, post-merger environment, the role will also help harmonize account & contacts, definitions, reporting, data models, and ways of working across legacy businesses and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Delivery Management: Lead, coach, and develop a team of RevOps Data Analysts, setting clear objectives, quality standards, and development plans. Manage the analytics backlog and work allocation, balancing recurring reporting, strategic analysis, data-quality improvement, and urgent business requests. Create an effective intake and prioritization process based on business value, urgency, effort, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment. Review analytical outputs for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and commercial relevance before publication.
- Revenue Analytics & Commercial Insight: Deliver analysis across bookings, pipeline, conversion, sales velocity, renewals, churn, contraction, expansion, pricing, product mix, customer segmentation, and revenue performance. Translate complex analysis into concise commercial narratives, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions for revenue and executive leadership. Build driver-based and scenario analysis to support target setting, capacity planning, territory design, investment decisions, and regional business plans. Partner with Finance to reconcile commercial and financial views while maintaining clear ownership of definitions and source data.
- Forecasting, Planning & Performance Management: Support the design and operation of forecasting processes for bookings, renewals, expansion, contraction, and churn. Develop forecast-quality diagnostics, pipeline coverage analysis, trend reporting, and early-warning indicators. Provide analytical support for weekly performance reviews, monthly forecasts, quarterly business reviews, and annual planning. Monitor KPI performance against plan and help business owners identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Reporting, Dashboards & Self-Service: Own and continuously improve the core revenue reporting suite, executive dashboards, scorecards, and recurring performance packs. Design scalable, user-friendly data products that reduce manual reporting and enable appropriate self-service analysis. Establish documentation, refresh schedules, ownership, and service expectations for critical reports and dashboards. Drive adoption by training users on definitions, interpretation, and effective use of revenue insight.
- Data Governance, Quality & Transformation: Define and govern commercial metrics, dimensions, business rules, and reporting hierarchies in partnership with Finance, Data, and RevOps stakeholders.
