About the role
As the Commercial Manager, you will have the day to day responsibility to manage the clients obligations under the contract. As part of the Core Team, you will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Projects Controls Team to manage the project deliverables to the Client expectations. The work is an on-going commission, you will be involved in one of the most exciting rail projects in recent years. Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR) is a transformational rail programme to better connect the key economic areas and cities of the North. Delivered over 30 years and combining new, existing and already planned lines, the programme will improve east-west connections, offering a radical change in journey times, reliability frequency and capacity. You will benefit from working with industry experts willing to support you in achieving your career development objectives. NPR is structured to facilitate opportunities for career progression through succession planning initiatives.
Candidate Specification
- Degree in Accountancy/ Finance/ Quantity Surveying/ Engineering Discipline or equivalent
- Chartered Membership with RICS/ ICES or relevant professional institute
- Demonstrable experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Ability to create and manage work package labour estimates, and associated P/L
- Ability to take ownership of contract administration, billing, cost management, sub contractor financial management, cost reconciliation, P/L reporting at a project level
- Ability to plan the cost management in the organisational ERP systems with advanced ability to reproduce reports in a customer facing environment
- The ability to guide team members to create efficient cost and contract administration procedures
- Ability to work under pressure
- Effective time management with excellent presentation and communication skills
