The Commercial Finance team plays a critical role in our business, partnering with senior leaders and their teams to provide clear and accurate planning and forecasting, helping to ensure our commercial success and achieve our mission of 'helping every household make the most of their money'. You will be a close and trusted financial partner, embedded within the customer function providing valuable guidance and challenge on all key decisions. This role will provide detailed relevant insight into performance and its drivers, helping the function to optimise performance and achieve growth targets. This is a 12-month FTC created to support the continued growth of our Customer propositions - including SuperSaveClub, Credit Monitor, and our newest additions Savings by MSM and Investments by MSM. It is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of MoneySuperMarket's evolution from helping customers save money to helping them save and grow it.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Trading Process
    • Operate a strong trading process to deliver advanced insight and drive action to improve commercial performance.
    • Ensure the Customer team are fully appraised of the financial performance of their business areas through key KPI's and the potential value and implications of relative tactical and strategic options.
    • Provide insight around total marketing performance and individual channels, including paid search (PPC), SEO/organic, CRM, Brand and App.
    • Partner with channel owners to evaluate marketing efficiency and returns - including ROI/ROAS, LTV and payback - to guide budget allocation across PPC, SEO, CRM, Brand and App.
    • Support evaluation of Brand and above-the-line investment where direct attribution is harder, using appropriate longer-term and blended measures.
    • Support the coordination of cross-vertical marketing initiatives.
    • Ensure issues and opportunities are recognised, analysed and raised with the relevant leadership team.
    • Support the continuous improvement of Customer trading insight, working closely with the Data and BI teams.
  • Decision Support
    • Act as a strategic partner to the Customer team, focusing on value creation and growth - with particular focus on supporting the ongoing development of customer propositions including SuperSaveClub, Savings by MSM, Investments by MSM and Credit Monitor.
    • Help the business make the right decisions in response to rapidly changing trading conditions in a highly competitive digital marketplace.
    • Develop, build and challenge business cases and unit economics for key projects and strategic initiatives.
    • Conduct effective and insightful post investment reviews.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Support the vertical quarterly reforecast and budget planning processes.
    • In-month forecasting at the appropriate level of detail, developing this as business requirements change.
    • Deliver insightful analysis and commentary of forecasts and budgets.
  • Processes and Continuous Improvement
    • Embrace AI and automation to work smarter - using approved tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude to accelerate commentary drafting, anomaly detection, scenario modelling and reporting, while always applying professional judgement and appropriate review to AI-generated output.
    • Manage agreed controls over commercial decisions and the planning and investment processes.
    • Driving continuous improvement of reporting and forecasting processes, responding to the changing insight needs of the business.
    • Act as a data steward to ensure integrity of reporting, working with Data and BI to resolve incidents and improve data.
  • Management Accounting
    • Review management accounts before final issue for commercial reasonableness and agree any significant judgements that impact commercial results.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Professionally qualified ACCA, CIMA or CA/ACA.
  • Ability to explore and analyse detail performance data to find the key trends driving trading performance without getting lost in detail or complexity.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting key business decision making.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to identify, understand and mitigate risks.
