About the role

Are you a commercially sharp Buyer with a passion for electronic components, supplier negotiation and building resilient supply chains? This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing global organisation in Stevenage, where your market insight, sourcing expertise and cost-saving mindset will make a visible impact from day one.

You will take ownership of costings, negotiation and strategic sourcing across electronic components, helping to secure the best pricing, availability and lifecycle management while supporting kitting projects for key customer accounts.

The business is an established and expanding global organisation within electronics distribution, partnering with customers across Defence, Aerospace, Automotive and Medical sectors. They support leading OEM and EMS companies with global product sourcing and traceability, electronic product design, logistics and supply-chain management, alongside in-house anti-counterfeit testing and product obsolescence management.

What you'll be doing as a Buyer:

  • Source electronic components with a strong focus on cost, quality, availability and lead times.
  • Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements and commercial terms to deliver measurable year-on-year savings.
  • Own kitting projects for assigned customer accounts, ensuring accurate, timely and commercially effective fulfilment.
  • Supply chain resilience and risk mitigation.
  • Build strong supplier relationships that protect continuity of supply and reduce risk.
  • Support customers and engineering teams with market intelligence, component alternatives and cost-effective solutions.
  • Contribute ideas and insight that strengthen procurement strategies and support wider business growth.

What we're looking for in a Buyer:

  • Proven experience in electronic components procurement or buying.
  • A good understanding of electronic component market trends, lead times and supply chain risks.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities across kitting, BOM analysis and supplier management in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll join a specialist, growing business where procurement is central to customer success. This role offers variety, ownership, supplier engagement and the opportunity to make a real commercial difference, with a competitive salary of £35,000 - £38,000 plus a bonus every six months.

However, we will keep your details on our database, and will contact you when other suitable positions come in.
