As part of our continued investment in Procurement, we're looking for a Category Manager - Logistics Procurement to lead a diverse and strategically important portfolio spanning Transport, Distribution, Warehousing, Fleet, Last Mile Delivery, Logistics Operations, and Supply Chain Services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Logistics Procurement professional, or a high-performing indirect procurement specialist looking to take ownership of a diverse portfolio, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive value, innovation and business outcomes within a complex, fast-paced retail environment.

The Opportunity

As part of the Procurement team, you'll develop and deliver category strategies across a diverse Logistics category portfolio, driving commercial value, supplier performance, innovation, and business outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders across Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance, you'll lead sourcing activity, manage strategic supplier relationships, and support key business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned to Logistics and business objectives.
  • Lead strategic sourcing activities, commercial negotiations and supplier selection processes, tenders, and commercial negotiations to deliver cost optimisation and value creation opportunities.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, driving performance, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Analyse spend, market trends, and supplier capabilities to inform decision-making.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to shape demand, challenge requirements and identify value opportunities.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the Logistics category.
  • Monitor market trends and emerging supplier capabilities to inform category strategy.
  • Support Procurement's transformation agenda and embed best practice across the business.

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for an ambitious procurement professional with strong commercial instincts, the ability to influence senior stakeholders and a track record of delivering results across indirect spend categories. Experience within Logistics Services procurement is highly desirable, but we're equally interested in individuals who have managed complex indirect categories and can demonstrate strong stakeholder management, strategic thinking and commercial negotiation skills.

Essential Experience

  • Procurement experience within a medium or large-scale organisation.
  • Exposure to Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport, Fleet, Warehousing or related operational spend.
  • Strong sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation capabilities within indirect spend categories.
  • Proven ability to influence and build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, market awareness and analytical skills.
  • A track record of delivering measurable value and procurement outcomes.
