If you are seeking a Laboratory Technician role within an interesting, growing business that works across a number of industry sectors, this could be the opportunity you seek. You will be required to work across a 3 shift pattern on a rotation (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am) which will reward you with a 12.5% uplift on the basic salary.
The Role:
- Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using; Combustion, Optical emission and X-ray Fluorescence. Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers.
- Preparation of samples for analysis.
- Routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment.
- Inputting of results to company database.
- Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture.
Preferred Skills:
- A science background with good mathematical and computer skills.
- Ability to interpret results and make decisions on alloy chemistry adjustments within the scope of the role.
- Flexibility to work within a small team to provide 24/7 laboratory cover with the ability to work across this 3 shift work pattern.
- Meticulous, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to work alone, self-sufficiently, and independently prioritise tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 3-Shift (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am) WITH A 12.5% SHIFT PREMIUM.
