We need a professional who understands that a well-maintained school is the foundation of great learning. You will be a vital member of the school community, ensuring the site is always at its best.
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire (Excellent links to the M4 and A419)
Salary: £25,000 – £29,000
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Requirement: Enhanced DBS check (Essential) and prior maintenance experience.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence: Monitoring the building's vital signs—from boiler efficiency to water temperatures. You’ll be the go-to person for internal climate control and lighting, ensuring the environment is perfect for both study and play.
- Security & Key Holding: Managing the daily opening and closing routines. You will be a primary key holder, ensuring that all access points are secure and that the site remains a safe haven for our pupils.
- Maintenance & Improvement: From fixing a leaking tap to refreshing a classroom's paintwork, your practical skills will keep the school moving. We value initiative and will support you in managing site-wide improvement projects.
- Waste & Environment: Coordinating with external contractors to manage waste efficiently. You will lead the school’s efforts in maintaining a clean, litter-free site that encourages environmental respect among the students.
The Ideal Candidate: Ideally, you will have a 'can-do' attitude and a background in a trade like plumbing or carpentry. You should be highly organized, capable of working independently, and ready to engage positively with children and staff.
