Overview

We are a growing UK-based accountancy firm working with a diverse and dynamic range of clients across multiple industries. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with clients, has strong technical skills, and is keen to develop within a supportive and progressive firm.

As an Accounts Technician, you will assist in preparing accounts, VAT returns, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance while delivering excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in the production of year-end accounts and management accounts for a range of clients.
  • Process and review VAT returns and payroll submissions.
  • Support with Corporation Tax and Self Assessment Tax Return preparation.
  • Maintain and update client records accurately within accounting systems.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant accounting and tax regulations.
  • Manage workloads efficiently to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants to support ongoing client projects and business improvement initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified, or working towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software (such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage).
  • Prior practice experience is desirable but not essential.
