We are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor for an immediate freelance requirement with a leading MEP subcontractor delivering a major hospital project. The role is suited to candidates with strong NEC Option C experience and a background in complex healthcare or live environment projects.

The role will focus on commercial management of MEP packages, including cost control, change management, procurement, and contract administration. The successful candidate will support the commercial and project teams in delivering accurate forecasting, valuation, and commercial reporting under NEC frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage MEP commercial activities under NEC Option C
  • Prepare and manage compensation events and change control
  • Support cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Carry out valuation of works and subcontractor applications
  • Assist with procurement and subcontractor package management
  • Liaise with project delivery teams on cost and programme impacts
  • Support final accounts preparation and agreement
  • Ensure accurate commercial reporting and contract compliance
  • Work closely with client and supply chain stakeholders

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong NEC Option C experience (essential)
  • Experience working for an MEP subcontractor preferred
  • Hospital / healthcare project experience advantageous
  • Familiarity with Procure 21+ / Procure 23 frameworks useful
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor commercial management
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • JCT experience not required
