Principal Electrical Engineer (Projects in Devon, Exeter

Salary Guide: £70,000 - £80,000 Plus Bonus, Car/Allowance & Excellent Package

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for South West Water. They are recruiting for a Principal EICA Engineer to help deliver these projects.

Reporting to the Regional Discipline Lead, you will provide superior quality engineering design services to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will co-ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.

• Assist in developing and monitoring procedures and processes.
• Ensure coordination of designs with all other disciplines, internal and external, to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
• Work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives.
• Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities.
• Ensure designs take account of environmental issues.
• Strong understanding of the principles of water and sewage treatment.
• Experience of managing members of staff in designing relevant discipline aspects of water and sewage treatment plants.

Preferable qualifications include:

• Relevant discipline Engineering degree in Electrical or ICA.
• Relevant discipline Engineering HND with extensive suitable experience.

Additional skills required:

• Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
• Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment, e.g. mechanical engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering and project management.
• A flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data at one time.
• Computer literacy.
• The ability to get to all site and office locations within the region.
