Tech Skills:

  • Extensive experience as a Lead Technical Architect on large-scale cloud data platform or enterprise technology programmes.
  • Extensive expertise in Microsoft Fabric - tenant architecture, OneLake governance, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Fabric Networking, Real Time Analytics, capacity management, and enterprise-scale deployment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure data platform services: Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Delta Lake.
  • Extensive expertise in Microsoft Purview for enterprise data governance, data estate cataloguing, lineage, classification policies, and compliance reporting.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise Azure security architecture: zero-trust design, Entra ID governance, Private Endpoint strategy, network segmentation, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and SC-level controls.
  • Strong expertise producing and defending HLD and LLD architecture documentation at senior governance forums.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Bicep/Terraform) and CI/CD platform architecture - able to provide authoritative technical direction to DevOps and Infrastructure engineering teams.
  • Good experience with streaming and Real Time analytics architecture using Azure Event Hubs or Fabric Real Time Analytics.
  • Outstanding communicator - able to explain complex architectural trade-offs and decisions to both technical peers and non-technical Permanent Secretaries, Directors General, and senior civil servants.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) - essential.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-600) - desirable.
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100) - desirable.
  • Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
