Our client based in Hornchurch are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary / Team Assistant with experience in family law to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly organised and strong team player who is confident in managing busy diaries, digital dictation and a wide range of administration duties.
The Legal Secretary / Team Assistant role will include:
- Carrying out all necessary conflict, money laundering and ID checks
- Undertaking a range of admin duties including data entry, completion of forms, managing diaries and travel, expenses, research, drafting of documentation, booking of events, meeting preparation and more
- Liaising with other areas of the business such as the accounts and marketing teams
- Providing Audio typing (Bighand) and copy typing as required
- Liaising with clients and third parties as instructed by Lawyers
- Attending to clients, delivering documentation as and when required
- Providing reception cover when needed
- Dealing with new business enquiries, following up enquiries and providing accurate record keeping
You will need:
- Strong working knowledge of the family law legal system, including terminology and procedures.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Packages and ideally Partners for Windows.
- Good working knowledge of third-party applications where appropriate e.g. Land Registry, Bighand, Oyez etc.
- To be self-motivated with a “can do” flexible approach.
- Have the ability to work under pressure.
- To be a proactive individual who takes ownership of issues and offers solutions.
- Have excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be a strong team player who is also able to work on your own initiative.
