- Overseeing day to day accounting for the charity
- Preparing monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and financial forecasts
- Submission of financial reports and statutory filings in compliance with charity regulations
- Providing financial analysis to support decision-making for the senior management team
- Working closely with department heads to develop financial strategies, control costs,
- and optimising revenue streams
- Monitoring and managing cash flow and ensuring availability of funds for operational needs
- Responsible for overseeing billing and collections processes
- Liaising with external auditors and ensuring smooth execution of annual audits
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, including charity-specific requirements
- Leading the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with the charity goals
- Providing variance analysis and budget forecasts to the leadership team
- Delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, trustees,
- and stakeholders
- Supporting funding applications and reports to external funders as needed
- Overseeing bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Responsible for one member of staff
You will be a qualified Accountant or will be qualified by experience and you will have worked in a senior finance role previously. Experience of working with charities or non-profit organisations would be preferential, along with a good knowledge of VAT for complex organisations.
