About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a range of fire and security systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. This role requires a customer-focused professional with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems.
  • Install and maintain intruder alarm systems.
  • Service and fault-find CCTV systems, including IP-based systems.
  • Install and maintain access control systems.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete all relevant service reports, worksheets, and compliance documentation accurately.
  • Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and industry regulations.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers on system operation and maintenance.
  • Participate in an on-call rota where required.
  • Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicle in good condition.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Fire & Security Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
  • Experience carrying out installations, servicing, maintenance, and fault finding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Good IT skills for completing digital reports and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Relevant industry experience within fire and security engineering.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • ECS/CSCS Card (desirable).
  • FIA qualifications (desirable).
  • Manufacturer training certifications (desirable).
