Electrical Engineer Full Time | Permanent £36,300 Per Year + On-Call Allowance

Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-4:00pm | Friday: 7:00am-12:00pm

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Maintenance team. You'll play a key role in maintaining our production equipment, electrical infrastructure and site services, while supporting improvement projects that help shape the future of our manufacturing operation. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving electrical systems across our manufacturing and commercial facilities. From reactive fault finding and preventative maintenance through to installations, inspection and testing, you'll help ensure our operations remain safe, compliant and efficient.

Working closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and wider Engineering team, you'll support continuous improvement projects, contribute to energy efficiency initiatives and help minimise downtime across the business. As part of this role, you'll also participate in an on-call rota, providing engineering support outside normal working hours.

  • Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding
    • Diagnose and repair electrical faults across manufacturing equipment and site services
    • Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
    • Maintain accurate electrical drawings, records and maintenance documentation
  • Installation, Inspection & Testing
    • Install new electrical systems, wiring and controls in line with current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
    • Carry out electrical inspection and testing, including EICR testing across site
    • Support machinery upgrades, relocations and new equipment installations
    • Assist with site improvement and energy efficiency projects
    • Ensure all electrical work complies with current legislation, company procedures and Health & Safety standards
    • Complete risk assessments, permits to work and associated documentation
    • Support investigations into electrical incidents, defects and near misses
    • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and energy performance
    • Work alongside Mechanical, Facilities and IT teams to maintain critical site infrastructure
    • Keep up to date with emerging technologies, legislation and engineering best practice

You'll be an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in delivering high-quality work and thrives in a manufacturing environment.

  • Time-served Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (for EICR testing)
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or commercial environment
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Competent IT skills for maintenance reporting and documentation
  • Experience with PLCs, variable speed drives (VSDs) or automation systems
  • Forklift Truck Licence
