Site Construction Manager UK – Various Project Locations Salary Depending on Experience We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Construction Manager to join a growing engineering business delivering complex projects across the power generation and industrial sectors.
This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in dynamic site environments, leading teams and subcontractors, solving problems and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
Site Construction Manager Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and manage day-to-day site construction activities.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and meet business objectives.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, materials, equipment and resources.
- Carry out site surveys and detailed equipment/condition assessments.
- Lead and manage on-site teams and subcontractors.
- Monitor workmanship and material quality throughout projects.
- Complete risk assessments and ensure safety documentation is in place.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant H&S standards.
- Conduct site inspections and address safety concerns.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Identify and resolve site issues to keep projects on track.
- Provide project updates and maintain accurate site documentation.
- Record and report safety audits, incidents and corrective actions.
- Support budget control and effective resource allocation.
- Ensure turnkey projects are delivered in line with NEC3 and NEC4 requirements.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance across all site activities. Site Construction Manager Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Site Construction Management.
- Experience in power generation, gas transmission, refining or a similar industrial environment.
- Gas turbine and/or air intake experience would be highly advantageous.
- HNC/D in Engineering, Project Management, Operations or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, CDM regulations and construction processes.
- Experience with engineering principles, fabrication and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Project; ERP/Epicor experience advantageous.
- Willing to travel extensively, stay away from home and work on-site for extended periods.
- Full UK driving licence essential. Site Construction Manager Working Hours and Benefits:
- Full-time position involving extensive travel to various project locations
- Will be required to travel to customer sites, including overnight stays and, on occasion, extended periods away from home
