We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Construction Manager to join a growing engineering business delivering complex projects across the power generation and industrial sectors.

This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in dynamic site environments, leading teams and subcontractors, solving problems and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

Site Construction Manager Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise and manage day to day site construction activities
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and are delivered in line with business objectives
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, materials, equipment and resources
  • Carry out site surveys and condition assessments of existing gas turbine auxiliary equipment
  • Lead and manage on-site teams and subcontractors
  • Monitor workmanship and material quality throughout projects
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure all required safety documentation is in place
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant health and safety standards
  • Conduct regular site inspections and address any safety concerns or issues
  • Act as the main point of contact between clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams
  • Identify and resolve site issues to keep projects on track
  • Provide regular project progress updates and maintain accurate site documentation
  • Record and report safety audits, incidents and corrective actions
  • Support budget control and effective allocation of resources
  • Carry out detailed equipment assessments to support project planning and risk mitigation
  • Ensure turnkey projects are delivered in accordance with NEC3 and NEC4 contract requirements
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance across all site activities

Site Construction Manager Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Site Construction Management
  • Experience within power generation, gas transmission, refining or a similar industrial environment
  • Experience within the gas turbine and/or air intake industry would be highly advantageous
  • HNC/D in Engineering, Project Management, Operations or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and CDM regulations
  • Good understanding of construction management processes and relevant regulations
  • Experience with engineering principles, fabrication techniques and interpreting technical drawings
  • Confident carrying out risk assessments and implementing appropriate safety procedures
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage a range of stakeholders
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Project
  • Experience using ERP systems; Epicor would be advantageous
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in changing site environments
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site for extended periods
  • Full UK driving licence is essential

Site Construction Manager Working Hours and Benefits:

  • Full-time position involving extensive travel to various project locations
  • Will be required to travel to customer sites, including overnight stays and, on occasion, extended periods away from home
  • Overtime is also payable when working off-site, where applicable
