Overview You’ll own the creative engine behind one of iwoca's highest-growth channels. Your mission is to turn performance insights into a steady stream of ads that actually cut through in a category where most look the same, building the creative infrastructure that fuels scalable, measurable growth across Meta, TikTok, and beyond.
The Team The Direct Acquisition team at iwoca acquires customers profitably across paid and organic channels. Paid Social is one of our highest-growth channels - we've validated the opportunity, proven incrementality through conversion lift studies, and scaled from test budgets to six-figure monthly spend across Meta and TikTok. Creative is the core growth lever for the channel. We've learnt that the ad is the targeting, that creator-led content significantly outperforms traditional UGC in funnel conversion, and that the gap between a good concept and a great one is the difference between breaking even and scaling aggressively. But we've also learnt that building a creative engine - sourcing creators, briefing agencies, managing production, and connecting it all to testing insights - is a full-time challenge that deserves dedicated, passionate ownership. You’ll work closely with a tight group of collaborators:
- Paid Social Channel Lead: Sets strategy and manages performance.
- Paid Social Executive: Launching/optimising campaigns and reporting performance/insights.
- Head of Brand: Shapes creative direction and ensures brand consistency.
- In-house Designers: Produce statics and AI-assisted imagery.
- External Partner Network: Includes UGC agencies, creator management platforms, and freelance video editors.
The Role We need someone genuinely obsessed with what makes people stop scrolling, who understands social platforms intuitively because they live on them, and can translate that into a disciplined creative operation that delivers results.
Creative Vision and Strategy
- Develop the creative roadmap for paid social, working with the channel owners to translate performance data, testing insights, and cultural trends into a pipeline of concepts across video, static, UGC, partnership ads, and emerging formats.
- Work with the channel owners and brand team to shape creative direction for multiple products including our core flexi-loan and a new credit card ensuring each has a distinct identity that stands out in-feed.
- Push beyond the generic stock imagery and safe messaging that dominates financial services.
- Find the concepts, formats, and creators that people actually notice.
- Research & understand customers, translating insights into creative concepts.
- Balance high-performing hooks with positioning iwoca as a mature, trustworthy lender.
Creative Production and Resource Management
- Own the full production pipeline: concept through briefing, production, feedback, delivery, and asset management.
- Build and manage a network of in-house designers, external UGC agencies, and a self-built roster of creators for partnership ads, who can speak authentically about business finance.
- Manage contracts, usage rights, and production timelines across multiple concurrent projects, balancing quality with velocity.
- Tie creator content to seasonal business moments such as stock purchasing ahead of peak trading seasons or year-end cash flow to maximise relevance.
Testing, Insights and Iteration
- Work with the channel owners to build a creative testing framework connecting platform metrics such as hook rate, hold rate, CTR, and landing page conversion to commercial outcomes.
- Turn monthly creative reviews into actionable briefs: what to iterate, what to retire, what to double down on.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven track record producing paid social creative that drives measurable business outcomes, not just engagement.
- Deep fluency with Meta and TikTok, understanding how algorithms reward creative, how formats perform differently, what makes content feel native.
- Experience managing creative production across multiple formats and partners simultaneously.
- Strong project & stakeholder management with a proven ability to source, brief, and manage creators or influencers, including negotiating usage rights and partnership arrangements.
- Strong creative judgement paired with commercial discipline; ie. you can tell the difference between a concept that will perform and one that just looks good in a deck.
- Social native. You live on these platforms.
- Understanding of performance marketing / paid social creative landscape and industry trends.
Nice to have
- B2B or financial services paid social experience (or strong B2C analytical chops that transfer).
- Hands-on video production or editing skills.
- Experience with creator management platforms (e.g. Grin, CreatorIQ).
- Familiarity with creative testing methodologies and connecting creative variables to conversion.
- An existing network of creators, UGC producers, or freelance creative talent.
