About the role

We are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join us at Letchworth Vets and help us to take care of the lovely pets and clients we have on our books.

What we can offer

  • The role would ideally be full time but part time can definitely be considered.
  • We are very open to considering a flexible rota and can provide a regular half day or full day off.
  • The working day is between 8am and 7pm and there are no out of hours as we are covered by Vets Now.
  • Saturday clinics are worked 1 in 5 (9am - 1pm).
  • The role is for 31 hours a week but we are flexible.
  • We also have a sister practice at Deepdale so the role can also offer shifts there.

Find a place to excel

We are a busy first opinion small animal practice serving the pets of Letchworth and the surrounding areas. We are committed to looking after staff, patients, and clients to the best of our ability. Some clients have been coming to the practice for over 50 years while others are brand new. We like to give them all the service they deserve. We are a team of five vets, three of us have been qualified for over ten years so there is a great level of experience. We have five amazing RVNs who keep us functioning and support everything we do. We have an ultrasound machine, digital x-ray, in‑house lab, separate theatre and dental rooms, dental x‑ray and a tonovet. We are immensely proud of our quiet, peaceful separate cat ward and are working towards ISFM Cat Friendly status.

About you

Currently we have a strong surgical bias in the team so it would be great to develop our medical offering. Ideally our new vet will love all things medical and enjoy spending time working up cases! The role also requires time spent in the consulting room so excellent communication skills and a desire to look after pets and people is essential.
